I don't want to be thankful

I have to go to work today, and it is the last thing I really want to do! I am having some trouble with one of my mangers who is manic-depressive. I called my mom in tears yesterday and was telling her how it felt personal and how unfair it was. And true to my mom I was told that I should be thankful for this Manger and be glad that God was giving me the opportunity to learn how to deal with people before I was some where that I could not come home and bounce these things of of her! Of corse I rebelled at the thought, but after going back to work and thinking about it for a while I knew my mom was right (again) I have a lot to be thankful for and really can't complain, I have a job that is making me money so I can go on this trip and the mangers are just a stepping stone to the real wold, I some times hate it when mom is right! But she is right most of the time so I should be used to it by now!

  1. Dear Maid Elizabeth, I think you may want to proof read your writings before you release them. It may be just the younger generations' shorthand that I perceive as errors but others may too. Take this to heart or kick it to the curb but don't quit writing. We do care. Jeff Turner

  2. I presume Jeff is talking about the use of the word "manger" when it should have been "manager?" I knew what you meant, and since your blog was written shortly after Christmas, I figured that was the reason for inadvertently using the word "manger." Big whoop! Moving on....

The manager may have been a gift from God. Learning how to deal with difficult people now, before going out of country, may be just the useful experience you need. Your mother was so right! She's a wise woman, listen to her and you'll become a wise woman, too.

    Hang in there.

  3. I am 10 years older than you and did not grow up in a believing family. I became a Christian at 17 (my family are still nominal Catholics). One thing I think about a lot is how my daughters and I will interact as they get older. My mother and I had a lot of strife and tension. It makes me so happy to hear that your mother gives you good counsel and that, even if chafing for a moment, you realize it is good and follow it. That will do you well in your life.

ps the word plain in your financial goals button should be plane. :)
