A day in Davao

A few of the girls and I went out today, it was quite fun and we all had a good time. I am constantly reminded that I am no longer in North Idaho but in a new country. I have not quite gotten comfortable living in the city and I do not think that I ever will. I have not caught any babies yet but that should happen in the next few days!

Here is Mercy Maternity Center getting a new roof over the entry way

The road leading away from MMC, the house you see is orange house

Me in a tricy

Looking for work

A little outside eatery

The alternative to a tricy, a peticab

We had stopped at a intersection when I heard honking, this jeepy driver had seen my camera and wanted me to take his picture

It was the same with this tricy, they saw my camera and wanted their picture taken

On the way home some children did a impromptu dance for us

I thought that this was a interesting flower

I can not wait to be on my way home and hold my family safely in my arms again. One blessing is that a very good friend of mine gave me a ipod so I have been able to skyp my family every day even more then once! And I can see them

Location:Davao City

  1. That's wonderful of your friend to give you the means to both see and talk to your family while you are so far from home.

I envy you this experience, but realize that God had a different path for me. We must grow where we are planted.

    God bless,

  2. Your flower looks to be a Lantana. We have them all over my parents place here in Tx. They are beautiful! I love seeing your pictures and reading about your experience. God bless!

Thank you for your updates! I know that you lovely family is missing you, counting the days until your return, and praying for you without ceasing. We are praying for you also; for your health, your learning, your safe return, and that you will be the light of Christ to all whom you meet!

  4. I'm praying for your friend who may have Dengue Fever (yes, I read your Mom's blog, too!). Take care and use your netting!

  5. Joan,
As kids we called that flower, Ham and Eggs.
We would pick them and pretend to cook with them.

Take care to use bug spray with deet when you wake everyday and keep those mosquito nets closed when you're sleeping.

My prayers continue for you and all in your group every day.
G-d bless you and your whole family.
